The Other Zoey

Main character is a White woman, but several key characters are racially diverse, with Black actor Mallori Johnson playing Zoey's friend Elle; Archie Renaux (of Anglo Indian heritage) playing Miles, one of Zoey's love interests; and Chilean actor Jorge López playing Elle's boyfriend, Diego. Cast also includes Amalia Yoo (who describes herself as being of Korean, Puerto Rican and Greek descent) as Zoey's frenemy, Becca; Brazilian actor Gabrielle Saraivah as Becca's best friend; and actors from the East Asian and South Asian diaspora as various largely nonspeaking characters in Zoey's STEM group. John Crow (of Asian descent) plays minor character Dr. Tabak. Characters in STEM group and Dr. Tabak fulfill stereotype of Asian people being in STEM and medical fields. And while Elle is shown to be a free-spirited poet (against type for Black female characters), she's best friend to a White female lead (stereotypical). She does get into a relationship of her own, which also offers representation for non-White interracial couples. And showing women like Zoey interested in STEM, even in a romcom, may encourage other female viewers.

A non-graphic car accident gives a character slight amnesia.

Scenes with kissing and slight nudity (a male character takes off his shirt to enter a hot tub, with the reveal of his chest meant in a sexual manner). A character makes a double entendre about a male character throwing his "ball" (a soccer ball) in a female character's face.

Swear words like "bulls--t," "s--t," "hell," and (rarely) "f---ing."

One character briefly mentions that bingeing romcoms is a time to "get drunk" and have fun.
