What’s It About?
TIME TRAVELING TONYA follows 8-year-old Tonya Infinity and her tortoise friend Gertie as they journey through time meeting historical figures. Their adventures often explore what these individuals accomplished as well as the historical context of their lives and how they've left a lasting impact on the world. This might involve a little-known story like the secret meaning behind "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" or it simply introduces young listeners to icons such as Jackie Robinson and Charles Darwin. Each adventure helps young listeners connect the dots of how history has a lasting impact on the present.
Is It Any Good?
Time Traveling Tonya infuses history with fun, turning what could be a dry subject into a light-hearted adventure that opens listeners' minds to how one person can make a lasting difference. Although 8-year-old girl Tonya and 186-year-old tortoise Gertie come from very different perspectives, they share a curious spirit and love for learning. This enthusiasm is infectious and will likely inspire kids to develop a greater understanding and awareness of the world around them. They may even come up with some questions of their own, encouraging enlightening conversations with the whole family.
