What’s It About?
In THE WHOOPIE CHICKEN PODCAST SHOW, host Athena and her sidekick, Daddy, spend time together having fun while Mommy's away. The show begins with a theme song (sung intentionally out of tune), and includes jokes, the word of the day, and fun-fact segments. There are several songs that introduce and conclude every transition repeated throughout each episode. Athena and her dad deliver clean, family-friendly humor and entertain listeners with their Vaudeville-style comedy show, complete with sound effects. Athena does her best to keep Daddy's excitement under control, but her efforts are a little like verbal Whack-a-Mole, and the distractions could make it potentially hard for listeners to follow the stories.
Is It Any Good?
Athena and her dad genuinely seem to enjoy each other's company and have fun in this silly and somewhat corny Vaudeville-style podcast. The Whoopie Chicken Podcast Show is all about a father-daughter team having fun and sharing clean, family-friendly humor in a goofy, sketch comedy-show format.
The show is fairly casual and has great audio quality for an independently produced podcast. The downside is that sometimes it can feel a bit all over the place, which can make following stories and jokes a challenging. Besides the lack of flow and business, the relationship between Athena and her dad is heartwarming and the jokes are sure to be a favorite of little listeners.
