What’s It About?

Players again run in an endless (and ultimately fruitless) attempt to escape an angry simian. Swiping the screen from side to side turns corners, while swiping backward or forward causes your character to jump or slide under obstacles. Players can also slide on zip lines, guide mine cars, and jump to reach power-ups that do everything from attracting coins to giving them brief invulnerability. By completing small tasks, players can earn additional coins, which they can use to unlock different characters and power-ups.

Temple Run was a phenomenon. Temple Run 2, however, is an even better game. The game keeps what worked so well in the first title and improves upon it, with a brighter atmosphere and a diversity of escape methods, including zip lines and mine cars, that break up the monotony of running that impacted its predecessor.

The addition of new, unlockable characters also adds a diversity that makes it more welcoming. At its heart, though, it's still the heart-pounding game it has always been -- frustrating at times, but one you can't stop playing.
