fantastic words, illustrations

we really love the entire series of amazing books about kid leaders by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts--Rosie Revere, Engineer; Iggy Peck, Architect; Ada Twist, Scientist. this one is my favorite--Sofia sees a community need and figures out how to advocate for the entire community. all kids should be introduced to how our government works and how individuals can make a difference as soon as possible!

Amazing

You know the series so it should be no surprise it's a winner, what is surprising is Sofia's wall of Sade posters.

This charming book about kid activism delivers the powerful message that that no one should be told they can’t accomplish something just because they’re young. There's a nice rhythm to Andrea Beaty's words as they wind around David Roberts' engaging illustrations in Sofia Valdez, Future Prez. Young readers will enjoy that they have to turn the book all around to follow the sentences snaking through the pages. More advanced readers will be challenged by the vocabulary and the concentration it takes to read that way at a steady pace.
