I think that Markipiler is perfect for a age 7+ audience, because every kid deserves the joy of watching a Markipiler video. As Markipiler is a great role model, and he supports charity’s, and he has educational value in the department of knowledge and you can learn off of him for your own YouTube. He does swear sometimes, but it’s just friendly banter. It’s how kids learn.

I don't have any kids and I don't know everything about kids' development and stuff like that but I grew up watching Markiplier (and other similar channels) and despite all of the sex jokes his content is fine for preteens. Mark doesn't try to be family friendly and makes a lot of jokes about sex, though they're pretty tame imo. Just educate your kids on sex (because children are eventually gonna find out about stuff related to it like it or not! And you are the parent so you're supposed to make sure that your kids don't get a twisted view of it from the internet, or other kids, or malicious (or just ignorant) adults!) and you're pretty much good to go. This is what my parents did and I'd say I'm pretty well-adjusted as far as my sexuality goes, compared to a lot of my peers especially. His older content has some pretty weird rapey jokes but as time has gone on Mark has probably realized that joking about rape is not okay and stopped it completely maybe around 2015-2016. Also he plays a lot of horror games and otherwise violent games which obviously might not be approppriate for younger viewers but in general Markiplier's content is pretty tame as far as youtubers go and often has wholesome and motivational messages as opposed to other content creators many of whom bait kids into buying their stuff and joining their cult of personality or just teach horrible values. He's grateful of his audience and friends and it's clear that the egotistic persona he sometimes puts on is just a jokey character. Overall a great Youtube legend who can be a bit awkward to watch together with your kid but let's be real your child is likely making similar jokes to what Mark makes with their friends already. Also he swears but I don't get how that's an issue either as long as you teach your kids to be respectful and all that.

Whether you're delighted, horrified, or a combination of both by Markiplier depends on the episode you're watching. Fischbach has terrific comedic timing, he's a natural at character acting, and his radio announcer-like voice is spot-on for a video game commentator. So it's no surprise that Markiplier has more than 17 million subscribers and was ranked sixth on a list of the 20 Most Influential Celebrities Among U.S. teens in 2015. On the other hand, it can be frustrating that a guy with this much talent sometimes spends it on jokes about women, weapons, and violence. Depending on the episode, content in Markiplier's videos ranges from "great for middle schoolers" to "only appropriate for older teens." This also depends on which games he's playing through (parents can check out our game reviews for details on those). Families with kids who love Let's Play-type videos might want to test a few to see whether Markiplier's antics are right for them.
