What's the Story?
LIVE TO 100: SECRETS OF THE BLUE ZONES looks at the keys to living a long, healthy life. Is it a particular food that a population eats? A diet? The climate? The genetic makeup of the people? Or are there other factors that have yet to be identified? Explorer and endurance cyclist Dan Buettner has spent two decades researching longevity. In this show, he travels to Japan, Italy, Greece, Costa Rica, and the United States to uncover the secrets to the "blue zones," or places where people live the longest, healthiest lives.
Is It Any Good?
Intriguing, sensitive, and optimistic, this is educational television at its finest. Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones maintains a lively pace that will keep kids and adults engaged. The sparkling eyes of the seniors who have survived wars and suffering serve to inspire.
This is an exploration of human health that educators could even consider using as curriculum when developing a lesson plan about well-being. Stunning photography and expert storytelling add to the fine production value of this show.
