What's the Story?
A young girl stares up at the night sky and learns that the bright light that fascinates her comes from a dying star in HELLO, STAR. She reads and studies about space and stars, wanting to reassure her own special star that she will be there, and works her entire life to be an astronaut so she can be closer to it.
Is It Any Good?
Illustrator Vashti Harrison's beautiful images captivate the imaginations of young readers who can look at their own night skies and wonder what might be out there. Hello, Star brings empathy and connection to the pages of this lovely read-aloud story, and emphasizes how hard work can be fulfilling. The information about stars is perfectly appropriate for this age, helping make space accessible and fascinating.
