Unpredictable in the best way, this podcast joins the ranks of podcasts like Fresh Air and Ologies with Alie Ward, where the magic of the interview lies in the casual intimacy created by its host. Funny Cuz It's True with Elyse Myers has a playful and casual tone, with simple production and a silly intro theme. Myers' fame as an influencer was born out of the spontaneous response to her unvarnished TikTok posts describing old dating foibles and her life as a new mom. It's a delight to enter the world of the show largely because you can't be sure what will unfold in each conversation. Invariably, episodes are genuine and full of kindness. Myers describes her three goals when doing comedy as making sure that "people feel seen, loved and like they belong." Young people listening will be exposed to real discussions of the hardships of life in the world, but of all the venues to enter into these conversations, Funny Cuz It's True is a safe and trustworthy show to dip a toe in.
