Disappointing
What’s It About?
DRAW A STICKMAN: EPIC 3 sets out to prove once again that the pen, or rather the stylus, is mightier than the sword. Players use the in-game sketchbook to create a custom Stickman adventurer and set out on a quest to save the world by fighting back against creeping Corruption. They'll interact with the world in exciting ways, tapping into elemental abilities of their magic pencil collection. They'll also explore every corner of each hand-drawn level, using each tool in their sketchbook to their advantage as they uncover new secrets and treasures. Players will also rescue allies and help them to rebuild the kingdom one line at a time.
Is It Any Good?
One of the biggest appeals of video gaming is its interactive nature, and the more you can make the player feel like a real part of the experience, the better. Draw a Stickman: EPIC 3 draws players into the game by literally having them draw in the game directly. It's a hook that encourages creative customization, making the game feel more like a personal adventure. It's just great to watch a younger gamer's face light up when they see their drawings come to life. It's also fun for older gamers too.
As far as the gameplay itself goes, Draw a Stickman: EPIC 3 is a cute, hand-drawn adventure with a lot to discover. Each stage has extra treasures, secret paths, and other quirks that add to the replay value. The controls, though, aren't very precise, especially if you're playing on any screen smaller than a tablet. It can be frustrating trying to avoid enemies or hazards, only to stumble right into them instead. Smaller screens can also make it more difficult to draw decent figures or tools, making a stylus of some sort almost a necessity. Still, in the end, a little bit of clunkiness doesn't detract too much from the overall enjoyment of Draw A Stickman: EPIC 3.
