This podcast delivers bite-sized short stories of beloved Disney classics read by a team of newscasters from ABC11-WTVD with the decidedly forceful tone of broadcast news. The Disney Magic of Storytelling podcast offers many familiar stories, but lacks the warmth of storytellers, instead offering the clarity of a one-two punch of headline news. Fans of Disney will certainly relate to the familiar characters, recalling key details from the stories. Unfortunately, not much time is taken to set scenes or explain potentially new or difficult vocabulary or concepts for young listeners, who may find it hard to imagine and quickly process the details of the stories. The question-and-answer style of both the National Geographic Kids book, Why? and the rapid delivery of the reading can also be a challenge for kids to follow. The quick pace may make it hard for younger listeners to fully absorb the stories and the lessons they teach.
