Persona 4 Golden

Don't listen to the CSM review, it's like they didn't play the game. Anyways, P4G is great. It does have sex jokes/swearing but if you trust your kid or think that their ready then go ahead and let them get it. The characters are great and it actually teaches some decent lessons. Also, I put smoking because the uncle, Dojima has a cigarette but it's not that serious. And depending on what difficulty you play, it is easy or hard.

I am 13 and I got this game when everything was shut down due to the pandemic, and let me tell you it kept me sane. It has a mature age rating but it isn’t as bad as ESRB makes it out to be. Story The story of this game is amazing, you play as a teenager who is sent to a town in rural Japan to live for one year. Sounds simple enough, but people start to be found dead hanging from telephone poles. (No bodies are shown) And rumors of a channel that plays at midnight start appearing. You and a group of kids at your high school find that the people who appear on this channel are the people who die. You find that you can jump into TVs and save people who are shown. When I’m the tv the people who are shown are confronted by a version of themselves who knows what they refuse to acknowledge of about who they are. You are trying to save the people and find the person behind the killings. The game has a theme, which is that modern media isn’t all what it seems and that it uses certain parts of people. Characters All of the main characters are great Role models because they all are human teenagers trying to do good Combat When your in the TV you fight monsters using your persona (a manifestation of your psyche). The combat is not very violent with no blood. When an enemy dies it explodes into a dark cloud. Social life When your not rescuing people you spend your time hanging out with friends, working a part time jobs, or eating to raise stats. Language The language is very low, the worst you would hear is pr*ck, d*nm, and sh*t. Nothing that wouldn’t be in a pg13 movie. Drugs and alcohol At one part of the story the main characters get “Drunk” at a club, but they actually only think they are drunk because of the atmosphere. Other than that there are only references to those things. Misc. The music is very good, but I would say that other games in the series have better soundtracks. I absolutely adore this game and would say that anyone 12 and up must play this game. I know this probably wasn’t very well written but I did my best.

The game is like any other JRPG, except with a fun murder mystery. At times, the game does have sexual innuendo's or can be slightly inappropriate, but honestly any person around 13 - 14 with the average maturity can handle it. It does have murders, but there is no detailed corpse or murder scenes, so there's no harm there. All the violence is cartoony, and the actual "personas" are usually just demons from religions or custom characters. Overall, it should be fine as long as they are around 14 or older. You do also have to be a detective, so it could be a fun game for you and your family to figure out the killer.

I think persona is a great game for kids 10+! All the characters in the game are pretty mature although you do have some characters who may say some “Pervy” things or make a sexual joke once or twice I don’t think it’s bad. It’s a good murder mystery of who did what and has many plot twist that will make your head spin. Every main character and some side ones have a social link which will usually provide a good message. 2 of the dungeons may come off as uncomfortable but nothing I think a 10 year old couldn’t handle. But then again this is all based on your child’s maturity!

This game is amazing, of course it does have some suggestive themes, but it's up to you if you think your kid is mature enough. Read Magatsu Orpheus's review in the parent's section, I think it's probably one of the most informative.

This is proof that Common Sense Media has no idea what they’re talking about 90% of the time. This game has some of the greatest messages in any game or story ever, and the “hints of homophobia” are just parts of Yosuke’s character, are totally natural reactions, and lead to some really funny jokes. Not to mention that the whole message of the “questioning” character’s arc is that your sexuality just doesn’t matter and doesn’t make you a good or bad person. Anyway, I highly recommend this game to anyone who’s got at least some experience in gaming. Although the gameplay is the weakest out of Persona 3-5 (though still incredibly fun), it has the strongest cast and a great story to back it up. The most risqué stuff is much tamer than people make it out to be, too. Considering that it’s all obviously exaggerated, I’d say that 13 year-olds should have no issues with this game. I’d recommend keeping a box of tissues near you when you hear the credits song at the end.

This was one of the first truly dense JRPGs I've ever played; it's a slow start admittedly, but I implore you to stick with it. The story becomes engrossing after the first month, and the individual characters are well developed and worth interacting with. The combat system is extremely deep and rewarding if you put in the extra effort as well. That, and I'm only even halfway through the game - I've reached August. From what I can tell, it gets even better near the end. I recommend this game for prospective Persona fans who are a bit younger, perhaps in middle school. Persona 4 covers serious topics but has a bright, positive tone in comparison to Persona 3 and 5, which can be rather depressive as far as I can tell. I'd recommend all of the games to teenagers 15+.

I never though they could top the masterpiece that is P5, but somehow those madmen at Atlus did it. However, I think it's for ages 12+ because the worst it'll get is that the third dungeon, which contains sexual content but no nudity. Violence also isn't that bad because there is little to none blood. However it does get intense after the 6th dungeon, in which a child "dies", and if the player gets the bad ending and attempts to throw the culprit in the TV, they do not come back. However, the game does have a great message about accepting your inner self. Overall, 10/10, will replay, masterpiece.
