Unexpectedly dark and creepy murder mystery for 13+

Didn't expect the amount of jump scares that were included. With the cinematic environment it actually made me jump. Loved the plot line, and there were some very creepy typical horror movie elements in it, such a hearing a child sing a haunting melody, seeing things, mirror ghosts, etc. Wildly different from the other Poirot films, didn't expect such a different genre. Don't think it should be a 12, lots of violence, death shown on camera, disturing screaming and yelling, and some languages. Worth the watch, but 13+.

Dark tone and scenes match muddled murder mystery

A haunting in Venice while advertised as a horror murder mystery is really just a murder mystery. Like any other horror rated film, it does have a few creepy moments or violent scenes but doesn't feel like a horror movie. A haunting in Venice has a very dark moody tone and dialogue that is hard to follow. On top of that, unlike most mysteries instead of this movie being extremely obvious it suffers from trying to be so discreet that there are literally no clues or maybe one. I felt that it was hard to play detective which especially because all it took was the detective to speak to all the suspects once and he already knew the answer. The beginning was slow and the mystery went fast so the timing was off to me. Despite the mystery being a bit frustrating the film does have a strong cast who put on very convincing believable performances. It's appropriate for any teen however if your looking for a deeply thought out mystery investigated to it's fullest, i'd check elsewhere.

Shockingly bad

Not haunting, overall tired and weak. I'm very disappointed.

Boring and weak

Boring, lame, tired adaptation is not scary, not smart, and overall uninvolving.

Boring, weak, stupid adaptation

Boring, weak plot, AWFUL cinematography. The only decent thing about this movie is the performances.

wow

I know I put this as 11+ but I think that only applies when the 11 year old doesn't get scared. It has some blood and by that I mean People getting impaled by sharp objects a lot. It is appropriate if blood and a bit of scariness and jumpscares are ok for them

Horror movie- not like the other two but still very good!

oh my goodness that was crazy! i absolutely loved the other two and couldnt wait for tis one, but that actually frightened me. i am normally very tolerant to any kind of violence and whatnot in movies but guys. its really freaky. there are evil spirits who are apparently there to seek vengeance and anyway just a scary movie. but it was sooo good!! im really suprised that common sense media gave it 13+ because most of the time they give age rating that are way older than needed but i was honestly spooked!! great movie but be prepared, its horror.

meh

It was okay, not really that scary, only some parts. It was okay at first, but then at the end it was just talking so that was kinda boring.

Not as horrific as advertised

When I watched the trailer the movie came off really violent and horrific in my opinion, but watching it it didn’t see as bad (bad as in elements of horror and violence) as it was projected and advertised. Personally I really liked the movie’s plot and I thought the setting was really beautiful.
