Insightful

An amazing story that provides insight into the football and Beckham world. You may want to talk to your kids about bullying, especially the chant pointed at Victoria in episode two (or try to skip it if you have football mad kids that really want to see it).

The docuseries features David Beckham offering his sincere thoughts about his life and soccer career, and how it made him the person he is today. Conversations about his evolution as a world-class soccer player are intertwined with narratives about his personal life, including his 26-year (and counting) romance with his wife, former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham, and the long-standing relationship he had with former Manchester United general manager Sir Alex Ferguson. There's also some surprisingly frank dialogue about Beckham's mental health throughout his career, especially when it came to being bullied by Manchester United fans. But what Beckham most succeeds at is demystifying the tabloid celebrity and revealing Beckham as a committed athlete who's very human. Some will find it all a bit self-promotional, but chances are that most soccer fans will find it compelling.
